4X4 Adventure
Book your weekend away in the mountains
Welcome to Camelroc Farm
Our 6 km 4Γ4 trail passes through a forest, climbs up the mountainside to a viewpoint before descending down a slope and to a cliff edge. The route eventually opens onto a grass field. It sounds simple but its far from it. This 6km drive is challenging and designed for true 4Γ4 vehicles and drivers who enjoy the technical side of off-road driving.
The course takes around 2β4 hours to complete, depending on pace and terrain conditions. Along the route, youβll encounter a series of obstacles that demand careful attention and precise handling rather than speed.
Our trail
Its about strategy, not speed
Our trails climb the sandstone face of the Rooiberge to a viewpoint over the Maluti Mountains. Then it drops back down a steep ridge and along cliff edges that leave little room for error (PS, here is where you get your next facebook photo). This isnβt a scenic drive with a few bumps. Itβs a technical route that rewards patience, precise wheel placement and a driver who knows his vehicle.
Rocky ascents that test traction, approach angles and your nerves. Pick the wrong line and youβll know about it. We dont need you denting your ego, nor your car, so come prepared and lets see if you can conquer our course.
The climb
Off-camber sections and narrow ledges, this course features low land challenges and higher mountain passes. Some cliff passes are more challenging than the other but all of them are great fun.
The cliff edges
Steep, loose and unforgiving. Low range, first gear, and trust in your vehicle. Do not apply your breaks here, trust your car and dont let your nerves get the best of you.
The descent

Is Your Rig Ready?
This Trail Doesnβt Care What You Paid for Your Vehicle. Expensive kit helps, but it wonβt drive the trail for you. Expect to get out of the vehicle, walk the obstacle, pack rocks and build your own line where needed to protect sliders, diffs and sumps. The best drivers here arenβt the fastest. They read the ground and stay humble.
-
low-range transfer case required. Soft-roaders and AWD SUVs wonβt make it.
-
Not for beginners. If this is your first technical trail, this isnβt the place to start. Unless you wanna take a fantastically beautiful drive through the field.
-
Standard clearance will be tested; underbody protection is strongly recommended
-
Required
-
Bring recovery points, a snatch strap and a tyre deflator
Your Reward
At the top, the Maluti Mountains stretch across the border into Lesotho. Sandstone cliffs glow red in the afternoon light, and youβll understand why this trail is worth the effort.
